LEED Certified Buildings in Colombia

The certification n LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a green building evaluation and certification system developed by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). This system measures the sustainability and environmental impact of buildings in several areas, including energy efficiency, the use of sustainable materials, indoor air quality and water management.

The official Viviana Valdivieso, who is currently serving as director of the Colombian Council for Sustainable Construction (CCCS), highlights the performance achieved by Latin America and the Caribbean in terms of LEED certification. Valdivieso reported that 39 countries in the region have developed a total of 5,964 LEED projects, which cover an area of 46.5 million square meters. The largest a.plus; day of these initiatives are located in 18 countries in Latin America, with Brazil (with 1,465 buildings) and Mexico (with 1,837) being the leaders in the regional market. In fourth place is Colombia, with 503 projects, behind Chile, which has 527 registered initiatives.

LEED Certified Buildings in Bogota

  • The Ed n Shopping Center, located southwest of Bogota, in Colombia, has received the LEED Platinum certification.
  • The Novartis New Building in Bogota was the first project to obtain LEED certification in August 2010.
  • The Rochester school achieved LEED GOLD recertification, becoming the first school in rich Latin America to achieve this recognition.
  • The Amarillo corporate building was the first to obtain the double LEED Platinum certification, now recertified LEED ae v4.1.

LEED Certified Buildings in Medell n

  • Tigo Colombia inaugurated a building in Medell n that meets the LEED GOLD certification, and is part of the first phase of the Rivana Business Park in Medell n. The building has more than 17,000 square meters, nearly a thousand workstations, 46 meeting rooms, an auditorium, training center and collaborative spaces on all floors.
  • The Medellin Trade Mark for Antioquia received LEED GOLD certification for its El Poblado Business Center, which was built in two and a half years with high standards of quality and sustainability.
